The first session of the POEMS Webinar Series welcomes Sean Redmond and Patrick Camilleri from Silicon Catalyst Europe to unpack the critical forces reshaping the global semiconductor landscape.

From rising design costs and power constraints to investment gaps and the changing role of start-ups, Sean will set the scene on where the industry stands today, where it needs to go next, and why startup-driven innovation has never been more critical.

Building on this context, Patrick will introduce ChipStart EU, a new European semiconductor startup incubator designed to turn deep-tech ideas into investable, scalable companies.

ChipStart EU is a fully funded 12-month incubation program for early-stage semiconductor start-ups developed by the Malta Semiconductor Competence Centre (MSCC). It is delivered by Silicon Catalyst EU Ltd, in collaboration with Malta Enterprise and the EU Chips Joint Undertaking (Chips JU).

This session is particularly relevant for semiconductor and deep-tech start-ups as well as researchers and spin-offs exploring commercialisation opportunities.
