POEMS joins aCCCess Annual Event in Brussels
10-02-2026
POEMS joined the aCCCess annual event, “Building Europe’s Semiconductor Future — Together”, on 5–6 February in Brussels. This event provided an opportunity for POEMS to connect with the 30 Chips Competence Centres across Europe for the first time.
Established over the past year, the Chips Competence Centres are part of the Alliance of Chips Competence Centres for Enhanced Semiconductor Services (aCCCess). This Coordination and Support Action, launched in March 2025 under the EU Chips Act, aims to create a European network that fosters innovation, facilitates access to semiconductor services, and strengthens Europe’s position in the global semiconductor value chain.
At this first edition of the event, POEMS Coordinator Mariana Fernandes shared the challenges, opportunities and success stories of the Portuguese Competence Centre in Semiconductors, highlighting the creation of an Academia–Industry Working Group to foster dialogue and collaboration in an uneven sector.
The second day featured speed-dating sessions, allowing competence centres to present their activities, share experiences, and gain insights into operational models across different countries. The last day of the event also offered the chance to engage with expert reviewers, collecting feedback and recommendations to guide future work.
