POEMS at the Global Semiconductors Conference Malta

POEMS attended the Global Semiconductors Conference Malta (GSCM) on 10–11 November. Luís Miguel Pinho, researcher at INESC TEC, represented POEMS in a session dedicated to “The Power of Collaboration: Chips JU Competence Centres,” alongside representatives from the Finnish, Hungarian, and Italian centres. 

The panel, moderated by the aCCCess network, explored both the connections between the centres and the unique contributions each one brings to the European semiconductor ecosystem. Participants presented the core activities of their centres and discussed ways to collaborate across borders, from training and skills development to access to Pilot Lines and the services provided by the centres. The session offered an opportunity to showcase the current status of the centres and highlight priorities for supporting industry growth and scale-up. 

GSCM also provided an excellent opportunity to network with the chips competence centres and international companies attending the event, to understand how Malta is positioning itself to attract start-ups through the Chips Start EU acceleration programme.
