POEMS at the European Researchers' Night

Every year, the European Researchers’ Night brings science closer to citizens. On 25 September 2026, POEMS took part in events held across Portugal, helping the public explore the science and engineering behind the chips that power our daily lives. 

From Braga to Aveiro and Lisbon, POEMS partners introduced audiences of all ages to the world of semiconductors through hands-on activities, demonstrations, and conversations with researchers. 

Visitors learned how chips are designed, developed, and used in technologies that support communications, mobility, healthcare, energy, or digital services.The activities helped make a complex field more accessible, showing that semiconductor technologies are not only essential to advanced research and industry, but also connected to everyday applications. 

For POEMS, participating in the European Researchers’ Night was also a chance to highlight the importance of science communication and public engagement. Building a stronger semiconductor ecosystem in Europe depends not only on research and innovation, but also on curiosity, awareness, and the talent of future generations.
