POEMS Start-up Award: Seeking Innovative Semiconductor Solutions

POEMS is launching the first edition of the POEMS Start-up Award – an initiative aimed at Portuguese start-ups developing solutions in semiconductor-related areas. The award recognises innovation in technology- and design-driven solutions, including chip design, advanced packaging, semiconductor materials, and enabling software or hardware tools.

Eligibility and scope

Start-ups founded after 1 January 2022 with an innovative business case, product, or service can apply. Projects at various stages of development are eligible, from early-stage concepts to more mature business cases, including design-based start-ups that rely on semiconductor-enabled systems.

Award benefits

The recipient of the POEMS Start-up Award will receive a €2.500 voucher redeemable for POEMS consultancy services in technology, business development, and funding advisory. The award also includes strategic networking opportunities through access to the POEMS start-up community, increased visibility through official POEMS communication channels, and an institutional connection to the European Network of Chips Competence Centres (ENCCC).

Application process

Through a collaboration with the EPoSS Annual Event 2026, applicants can be considered for two awards with a single submission. Candidates must follow the the EPoSS Start-up Award requirements and include poems@poemscentre.eu in Cc when sending their application.

The deadline for applications is 30 April 2026.
