POEMS launches survey to map skills needs in semiconductors

02-04-2026

POEMS is launching a national survey aimed at companies with the goal of identifying skills, training, and human resources needs along the semiconductor value chain.

This initiative is part of the POEMS strategy to strengthen the national ecosystem, in alignment with the priorities of the National Semiconductors Strategy, contributing to better coordination between industry, academia and advanced training programs. It is also developed in line with broader European efforts, reinforcing the importance of a coordinated approach to identify skill gaps in the sector.

The survey aims to:

  • Gather information on training priorities along the value chain;
  • Identify human resources needs in the short and medium term;
  • Monitor international technological trends to anticipate long-term needs;
  • Support the development of training programs aligned with industry.

The information collected will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be used in aggregate form for strategic analysis.

The survey, conducted in English, takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes to complete and can be completed gradually. It is aimed at companies that operate directly or indirectly in the field of semiconductors and microelectronics. It can be accessed until April 20, 2026, here

The involvement of companies is essential to ensure that future POEMS initiatives, including advanced courses, thematic schools and upskilling/reskilling programs, effectively respond to the real needs of the industrial sector.
